All-Year Motorbike Events
South Wales Classic Motorcycle Club
This bike club was only founded in 2018, but with a mission to provide a friendly and welcoming club for owners and fans of classic motorcycles, they’re going from strength to strength. They aim to arrange ride outs, organise events and raise money for the community and charities. They meet every two weeks on a Tuesday at The Green Lady in Caerphilly.
South Wales Motorbike Rideouts
This is a fantastic group for everything motorbike. You can start your own ride out, join in someone else’s, or simply ask motorbike-related questions, whether those are route suggestions or engine details. Clearly welcoming to new and experienced riders, no matter age or gender – have a look for some great times, whether there are hundreds heading to a bike night or just a few feeling like a ride out through some of Wales’s most stunning scenery.
Biker Haunts
Thunder Road Café
If you’re biking around South Wales, then a trip to the Thunder Road Café is a must. It’s a hit with local bikers and biking clubs as it has great food at reasonable prices, a decent kids’ menu, and daily specials to keep it interesting. There’s also a 42-inch Plasma screen that they show motorbike events and races on. In the shop below the café, you’ll also be able to browse a great selection of motorbike paraphernalia.
Village Farm Café
A blast from the past, with plastic tablecloths and ketchup on every table. It’s nestled in a small industrial estate in Pyle, so it mostly gets locals, but it has a warm and inviting atmosphere and ample parking. There are no frills, but good food and friendly staff – making it a favourite with local bikers.
Some other haunts to look into as you head around Wales are:
- Owl’s Nest Tearoom Diner
- Oasis Biker Café
- Ponderosa Café
- Sam’s Café
- Electra Moto-Gear
