So, the Manchester Bike Show is definitely something to keep an eye out for. It can have over 100 trade exhibitions with 750+ motorbikes on display and takes place over several days. However, unfortunately, they are still looking for a venue that is large enough to host since the EventCity site was demolished. It was incredibly popular when it was running, so it’s worth heading to when they announce the next one.
Cheshire Classic Car & Motorcycle Show
Just a short trip from Manchester is the Cheshire Classic Car & Motorcycle Show, which will take place on the 26th and 27th of May 2024. Held on the grounds of the beautiful Capesthorne Hall, the show regularly attracts around 500 different types of vehicles. There is a mix of types of stands (autojumble, trade, and retail) as well as a full concourse overseen by a professional commentator. You also have access to the amazing historic house grounds during your time, along with food and drink stands, so it’s a great day out all round.

The Manchester Museum of Science and Industry
The museum is built on the old site of Liverpool Road station – a site of historic interest in the transport industry as the original terminal for the world’s first inter-city railway. The museum has a fantastic display of cars and motorbikes from the area, displaying the technological progress that has been made. It’s open daily from 10.00 – 17.00 and is free to the public, but you need to book a timed ticket in advance, and the special exhibitions generally cost something to enter.
Club Kawasaki Spring Ride Out
This exciting event happens every year, along with other riding routes and get-togethers. The Spring Ride Out location for 2024 is yet to be decided, but they have previously ridden around the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, Peak District and Snowdonia. Generally, some motorway is involved, so the ride isn’t suitable for 125cc bikes.
Biker Haunts
Bike ‘n’ Hound
Self-proclaimed as a haunt for ‘born again’ bikers – this pub is known to be down to earth with nothing fancy about it. There are live bands on a Friday and plenty of parking outside to ride up with your gang. It’s also close to Hyde bus station, so you can enjoy a biking night and a drink at the same time.
Bank Top Tavern
Located in Oldham, the Bank Top Tavern is a guaranteed good time. Dog-friendly with spaces for parties and regular live events, it’s a thriving, friendly place with plenty of secure parking for your bikes. If you want to replicate the welcoming atmosphere of motorbike culture, this is the place.
Dunham Barn Tearoom
The Dunham Barn Tearoom is located in Dunham Massey, Altrincham. It’s a great place to get good food and drink at a stop on a chill motorbike ride. With beautiful outdoor seating and tons of parking, it’s worth a stop and a walk to stretch your legs. Just note that they’re closed Monday and Tuesday and open Wed – Sunday, 10-4, perfect for a laidback sunny day.
